Saddleback Church HIV&AIDS Initiative

Local HIV&AIDS
Giving to the local HIV& AIDS Initiative provides church-initiated programs for people living with HIV& AIDS in Saddleback Church as well helping other churches being an HIV outreach in the United States. HIV information, HIV testing, care and treatment support are taught to churches and people living with the virus and their families. A healthy model of church HIV ministries is being taught so that every church becomes a safe place for people to receive what they need for a healthy, purpose-driven life.

Global HIV&AIDS
Giving to the Global HIV&AIDS Initiative provides compassion, community and real solutions in regions where PEACE Teams have connected with indigenous churches to begin HIV&AIDS ministries. Tools, training and practical help brings information about HIV&AIDS and support to people infected or affected around the globe. Even when there is no doctor, the church stands ready to provide HIV information, testing, counseling and support.

Rwanda Healthcare Initiative

In Rwanda, a country-wide model of HIV care and support is being developed in an unexpected place: local churches. Local churches are becoming hubs of information, testing, care, and treatment support. Through an innovative church-initiated program, volunteers are being trained to become community healthcare workers who offer primary healthcare to some of the most hard-to- reach populations in rural areas. Over 150,000 home healthcare visits have been made. Your gifts help provide training for the current network of over 3000 local volunteers, and make it possible for our goal of having 7,000 trained community healthcare workers by the end of 2012. This effort is also providing church health training for thousands of pastors across Rwanda.

Saddleback Church Orphan Care Initiative

Empty Orphanages

You can play a significant part in the bold effort by the government of Rwanda, in conjunction with the Orphan Care Initiative, to empty 33 orphanages by 2014.There are currently about 3,010 children in Rwandan orphanages who need to be re-joined with families in Rwanda. Your gift can make it possible to reunite children with their families who have been separated due to poverty or other causes or, when no existing family is present, your gift will help children to be placed in a new family of their own Your gift will provide training for families, children and lay social workers through indigenous churches.

Your donation will not provide a temporary benefit for an orphan, but something that is lasting and permanent – your gifts help children be reunited, matched and supported as they transition from the emotionally, physically and spiritually impoverished environment of an institution back into a loving, lasting, legal, and life-long family.

You can sponsor a child in Rwanda living with HIV. Families are adopting children in need, welcoming them into their home. You can give a one- time gift, or monthly sponsorship which helps provide healthcare, school fees, and what every child wants most: a family of their own!
