HIV and the Church

It’s a new year, and we’re so excited to share what God is up to in the ministry at Saddleback this season. If you’ve never served with us before, this is a great time to get plugged it and make a difference locally or globally.

Check out some of the highlights coming up in the next couple of months:

HIV Testing @ Santa Ana Art Walk – Feb. 3, 6-9pm
Our World AIDS Day outreach event was a success! Over 400 people experienced the HIV-awareness themed gallery, and people accepted HIV testing on the spot! Emmaus Church, the church we partnered with in Santa Ana, has invited us back to do HIV testing alongside their February gallery. If you would like to help host, assist with testing, or prepare snacks, there’s a spot for you!

HIV/AIDS Awareness Night for High School Ministry – Mar. 27 & 28
Our high school students are at a unique time in their lives when God is showing them the impact they can make in the world. It’s also a time where they fall into the age category most at risk for HIV. High School Ministry is creating space for our initiative to share with students the heart behind our ministry and connect them to tangible ways to serve on the spot. If you would like to help plan or serve at this event, we’d love to have you!

Take a HIV&AIDS PEACE Trip to Rwanda!
You can make a global impact this year by helping churches start HIV ministries in key areas. Trips are scheduled throughout the year, and we’ll train you in everything you need to know! The next trip is headed to Huye, Rwanda this March to encourage and empower local church members in how they can live their life on mission, assisting them in further developing an HIV ministry to women and youth in the community. Take your next step and learn to share your story at CLASS 401
This year, our serving opportunities are going to provide so many God-given opportunities to share your story with those who otherwise may never get to hear the Good News of hope for their lives – and we want you to be prepared! If you have never attended CLASS 401, make this your month!
