HIV and the Church

Our Saddleback HIV&AIDS Initiative works with local churches around the world, but we also have the privilege of serving people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS here in our local communities. Whether through simple acts of service to individuals or larger-scale community events, Saddleback members are making an impact for the sick. This year has seen several exciting developments as the HIV&AIDS Initiative branches out to new local areas.

In January, Saddleback Anaheim launched their HIV Ministry with their first ministry gathering. Serving opportunities in the community are available throughout the year, and the ministry will meet quarterly. Keep an eye out for the next Anaheim gathering in April.

Following the launch, Saddleback members have already been mobilized to serve in Anaheim. One notable experience came as volunteers from our ministry had the privilege of partnering with the Saddleback Motel Ministry to bring a message of hope, awareness and prevention to community members living in motels in the area. Residents gained a new appreciation for God’s heart for the sick and were encouraged to know their HIV status.

This month, Saddleback San Diego will also be launching their campus’s HIV Ministry, with an eye toward reaching those affected and living with HIV in San Diego County.

We are excited to see how God will continue to use our willing volunteers to serve the areas near all 17 of our Saddleback Church campuses! If you would like to learn more about how you can get plugged into serving locally, join us at our next monthly HIV gathering at our Lake Forest campus March 19th, Anaheim on April 9th, or call us at 949-609-8555 for more information.
