As World AIDS Day (December 1st) approaches, we encourage you
to join us in praying for people infected and affected by HIV. Below are some
facts and prayer prompts to get you started.

FACTS
·
36
million people are living with HIV worldwide (UNAIDS).
·
6,000
people are newly infected with HIV every day (amFAR).
·
In the
USA, a quarter of those new infections are among young people age 13 to
24 (AIDS.gov).
·
In
Orange County, over 6000 people are living with HIV&AIDS (.
·
Only
2 out of every 5 people living with HIV have access to treatment.
·
Few
churches in Orange County have specific means of reaching those who are HIV
positive and their families.
PERSONAL Needs
·
Pray
God will continually break your heart to care more for individuals infected and
affected by HIV and AIDS.
·
If
you do not know someone who is HIV positive - pray for the ways you can become
a safe person for others to share their lives with.
·
Pray
for the individuals you know who are HIV positive; ask God to show you ways you
can encourage them.
LOCAL Needs
·
Pray
that those in our community who are infected or affected by HIV and AIDS will
know God’s love through us.
·
Pray
that children living with HIV in Orange County will be loved, cared for, and
adopted by members of our church.
·
Pray
that Saddleback Church small groups will bring hope and healing to HIV positive
people and their families who are living throughout Southern California.
GLOBAL Needs
·
Pray
local churches will have compassion on the millions infected and affected by
HIV and AIDS and that compassion will be translated into action.
·
Pray
for local churches to be places of community, hope, information, and care.
·
Pray
that children orphaned due to HIV&AIDS will be loved, cared for, and
adopted by members of the local churches.
·
Pray
local churches will have wisdom as they develop effective, Biblical strategies
for prevention, treatment, and care.
·
Pray
for strength and comfort for the caregivers of those with HIV and AIDS.
